VMS Awards Ceremony & Telegraph Interview

So the Virgin Media Shorts awards ceremony was last Tuesday evening (5th October). I didn’t win either of the prizes, but I did receive a 35mm print of Moon in a tin, which was pretty cool! And seeing the film up on the big screen was amazing as well! I had an awesome day and the other finalists were all lovely guys. Massive congratulations to Oscar, Gino and Jason for their well deserved wins!

My film tin and the awesome poster the Virgin guys made for Moon!

I did an interview for the Sunday Telegraph which featured in their Film Life magazine yesterday. The interview is on their website (along with those of the other finalists) if anyone is interested to read it:

The judges’ feedback was also published on the site – reading their thoughts on my film was pretty amazing!

I was also interviewed by my local paper back home, The Herald Express, back in September when the shortlist was first announced. The article is below:

Finally, I want to give everyone who offered me their support through this a huge thank you! The response I received was phenomenal and more than I could ever have imagined. I am extremely touched and so grateful for everyone’s help and encouragement. Thank you guys!

My first review!

A nice little review of Moon was posted on the VMS site, they were kind enough to feature it in the first part of their animation showcase. Thanks guys!

An animation so charming that it will warm the cockles (literally) of even the most embittered cynic. The story of a boy who decides the moon looks cold – and so decides to make him a ruddy great scarf.
